Kitesurfing in Poole Bay is another painting of Poole Bay I have done, I think its the second biggest natural harbour in the world, but this one is late summer and shows what looks like ideal weather for kitesurfing and windsurfing in beautiful Poole Bay in Dorset.
I started this painting a few months ago but put it aside to dry and then totally forgot about it until recently.
Unlike my painting Poole Bay which is a warm summers evening and more impressionistic, this one is cooler, the summer is starting to turn into early Autumn and the weather is more changeable.
The Kites adding beautiful colour's into the cool blue autumn sky and reflect into the water.
With the Purbeck hills in the distance and Brownsea island nearer, people are spending their leisure time in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
This though, is a familiar sight in Poole Bay, kitesurfer's and windsurfers and sailors can be seen at any time of year here. This is a place where people want to spend their leisure time.
If I can catch a good winter scene here I will paint that also.
I painted this on a 12 x 16 inch stretched linen, the paints used on this painting were of the highest quality professional grade.
